GATI Passage — a winding path between leaves beneath a golden circle

01

The meaning of GATI

Passage. Becoming. Refuge.

In Sanskrit, gati carries layered meanings—each one speaking to the experience of moving through life and toward what comes next.

Passage

The Physical Journey

Grounded in the Sanskrit root gam, “to go,” this honors the body’s natural rhythm—supporting comfort, dignity, and a gentle physical pace as the earthly body prepares to let go.

Becoming

The Sacred Course

Drawing from Indian philosophy, this honors each person’s unique transition—bringing calm structure to the unknown and offering a steady presence in which the heart can find peace.

Refuge

The Ultimate Destination

Every journey carries the possibility of arrival. GATI holds sacred, judgment-free space for meaningful closure, honoring this final chapter and each person’s beliefs about what may lie beyond.

Passage for the body. Becoming through the unknown. Refuge in being deeply accompanied.

Meet the founder

Brittany DelleChiaie,
MSN, FNP-BC

My path began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Utica University in 2014, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons University in 2017. My experience as a nurse practitioner has spanned orthopedics, neurosurgery at a Level I trauma center, home hospice, and my current role in inpatient neurology. I am also completing the University of Vermont’s End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate, deepening my understanding of how to support individuals and families through this passage.

Over more than 15 years in healthcare, I have cared for people facing significant injuries, complex conditions, and profound uncertainty. I have first-assisted in the operating room, delivered life-changing news, and explained complex diagnoses to patients and families. I have also supported people receiving hospice care at home, where comfort, personal wishes, and the people they love become central to every conversation.

These experiences shape what I bring to GATI Passage. I understand how overwhelming medical information can feel, especially when it changes the future someone imagined. My clinical background helps me explain unfamiliar language, help families prepare thoughtful questions for their care team, and recognize concerns that need medical attention. Just as deeply, it has taught me when to slow down, listen, and give someone space to absorb what they have heard.

The part of care I have always loved most is the human part—making room for fear, honoring what matters to each person, and staying present when there is no easy answer. GATI Passage grew from my desire to offer more time and space for this kind of support beyond the walls of a hospital or medical office. I am building it thoughtfully, with the same care and presence I hope each person and family will feel.

The human behind GATI

In 2022, my partner and I moved from Massachusetts to Port Orange, Florida, trading New England winters for warmth, sunshine, and beaches. We share our home with our two French bulldogs, Kona and Lua. Some of my deepest happiness is found in the simplest places: time with my dogs, long walks or runs outside, rollerblading, camping, and poetry.

GATI Passage is unfolding

More is taking shape.

New offerings, thoughtful resources, and ways to connect will be shared here as this work continues to grow. Questions and early conversations are always welcome.
