The meaning of GATI
In Sanskrit, gati carries layered meanings—each one speaking to the experience of moving through life and toward what comes next.
Grounded in the Sanskrit root gam, “to go,” this honors the body’s natural rhythm—supporting comfort, dignity, and a gentle physical pace as the earthly body prepares to let go.
Drawing from Indian philosophy, this honors each person’s unique transition—bringing calm structure to the unknown and offering a steady presence in which the heart can find peace.
Every journey carries the possibility of arrival. GATI holds sacred, judgment-free space for meaningful closure, honoring this final chapter and each person’s beliefs about what may lie beyond.
Passage for the body. Becoming through the unknown. Refuge in being deeply accompanied.
How GATI can support you
Support is individualized to the needs of each person and family, and works alongside—not in place of—hospice, palliative care, and your medical team.
A focused, detailed conversation to bring clarity to questions, concerns, and what comes next.
Guidance in exploring values, goals of care, wishes, and the conversations you want to have with your medical team.
Consistent presence, education, and companionship for individuals and families in the comfort of home.
Personalized bedside presence and meaningful ceremony during the final 24–72 hours, shaped around your beliefs and wishes.

Meet the founder
I have spent more than 15 years caring for people through some of life’s most uncertain moments. I currently work in inpatient neurology, following years in orthopedics and neurosurgery at a Level I trauma center, where I first-assisted in the operating room during surgeries for patients with severe, life-threatening injuries.
Through it all, the part of the work I have loved most is the human part—listening, explaining, making room for fear, and staying present when there is no easy answer. GATI Passage grew from my desire to offer more of that care beyond the walls of a hospital or medical office. I am building it thoughtfully and allowing it to take shape with the same care and presence I hope to offer others.
I earned my BSN–RN from Utica University and my MSN–FNP from Simmons University. I will complete the University of Vermont End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate in November 2026.
A little more about me
I share life with my partner and our twin French bulldogs, Kona and Lua, who make sure life is never too quiet. I love the beach, feel most at home outdoors, and am an unapologetic sucker for poetry.
GATI Passage is unfolding
New offerings, thoughtful resources, and ways to connect will be shared here as this work continues to grow. Questions and early conversations are always welcome.
